Define and Document Business Processes Project

Project Definition:
Define and document business processes for Donor Development Department of non-profit organization.

Company:
Skakti Rising is a leading-edge organization providing holistic, gender-specific and trauma-informed services to young women, ages 15–30, who are dealing with multiple issues including substance abuse, body-image issues, interpersonal violence, and depression.

Challenges:
The content owner, who had been with organization since inception, needed to train a replacement staff member but had amassed many decentralized processes and documentation making it extremely difficult to effectively transfer knowledge.

Solutions:
Created high-level process map to guide content creation.  Provided centralized tool to create and accumulate department policies, procedures, forms, etc.

Results:
A centralized, user friendly, maintainable department reference guide. Due to the success of this project, additional staff will receive similar training and guidance on how to efficiently document business processes for their respective departments.
